South Phoenix Church
Praise of Pentecost is a dynamic, growing south Phoenix Pentecostal church and Phoenix UPC church plant serving located in the heart of South Phoenix, in South Mountain Village, and is home to folks from all across the south Phoenix area – Laveen, Estrella, Ahwatukee Foothills, South Mountain and beyond.
The diversity of our congregation is a reflection of the rich tapestry of cultures that call the Valley home. Folks of different races, nationalities & ethnicities – from all walks of life, cultures & backgrounds – young and old – and across the full spectrum of socio-economic means – find they feel at home in our church family.

While not technically a separate city from Phoenix, the area of Phoenix Metro located south of Salt River is commonly referred to as south Phoenix. The region is comprised of several cities, villages, communities & neighborhoods including South Mountain Village, Laveen Village, Estrella Village, Tolleson, Cashion, and Ahwatukee Foothills Village.
We are blessed to serve our incredible community as a dynamic & growing south Phoenix Pentecostal church family.
About the South Mountain Village area
From the east side of the Valley, the South Mountain Village area starts from the border of Tempe at 48th street and extends all the way west to 27th avenue (bordering Laveen Village), and from the base of South Mountain north through to the Salt River. South Mountain Village covers the 85040, 85041, and 85041 area codes.
There are many great small businesses and restaurants that line the streets east & west along Broadway, Southern & Baseline, and all down Central avenue – and along 7th street, 16th st, and 24th street east from Central, and 7th ave, 19th ave, and 27th avenue west from central.
South Mountain High School (home of the Jaguars, and alma mater of our Pastors) is just 2 miles from the church.
You might see our folks out enjoying the nearby parks like Hayden Park, El Reposa, Lindo Park, El Prado Park, Hermosa Skate Park, Esteban Park, and Circle K Park in the south.
If you’re looking for a great South Mountain church – we are conveniently located nearby within a short 5-10 minute drive or nearly every neighborhood.
Traveling to the church from the South Mountain area
If you’re traveling up from the South Mountain area, you can go north on 7th Avenue past Broadway, then left on Southgate Avenue. The building is about halfway down the street on the right side of the road. From South Mountain the drive is under 10 minutes.
A church for the Laveen Village area
The south west Valley has experienced incredible growth over the past 15 years – blossoming to nearly 50 thousand people! If you’re in the area, looking for a great Laveen church – we invite you to visit!
Traveling to the church from the Laveen area
Take Baseline Rd, Southern Ave, or Buckeye Rd east to 7th Ave, turn left (north) on 7th ave and drive north to Southgate Ave.
Left on Southgate – the building is halfway down on the north side of the street. Driving takes 10-15 minutes.
A church for Estrella Village, Tolleson & Cashion
Nestled south of the I10 but north of the Salt River, Estrella Village and Tolleson and Cashion are currently home to around 120 thousand of our neighbors. If you live in that area and you’re looking for a great spirit filled Estrella church – we look forward to your visit!
Traveling from the central Phoenix, Estrella, Maryvale, Encanto & Alhambra areas
Take the I-17 south through the Durango Curve to 7th Ave, take 7th ave south to Southgate Ave. Turn west on Southgate and our building is halfway down on the right side of the street. The drive is around 10 minutes.
A church for Ahwatukee Foothills Village
Nestled south of South Mountain – bordered by Tempe & Chandler on the east side, and Laveen Village on the west side. If you live in that area and you’re looking for a great Ahwatukee Foothills church – we look forward to your visit!
Traveling from west Ahwatukee
202 west & north, exit Southern east to 51st ave, north to Broadway Rd east to 7th avenue. North to Southgate Ave – the church is about halfway down the street on the north side.
Traveling from east Ahwatukee Foothills
Take the I-10 north, merging onto I-17 N/US-60 W. 7th ave south to Southgate. The building is down the block on the north side. Driving either direction takes around 20 minutes.

Praise of Pentecost is a growing south Phoenix Pentecostal church located in the heart of the south Phoenix community where you’ll experience Spirit-filled praise & worship, anointed Pentecostal preaching, Bible-based teaching, the outpouring of the Holy Ghost, answered prayers, healings, liberty from addictions and all manner of miracles!
